I wanted to write something yesterday, to fulfil the commitment of my new resolution. but as one cannot have all things at once I had to made a decision, between studying spanisch and writing. I chose spanisch over writing. but to keep it up I write a bit more today… still, it has to be only one story!
I heard the story at 'Los Girasoles': www.facebook.com/Restaurante-Vegetariano-Los-Girasoles-142505249111876/, a vegetarian Colombian – and I think really the only veggie – restaurant. I’m finding the Colombian kitchen a bit boring but 'Los Girasoles' have the best food. I know this since yesterday. I tried to find this restaurant already 2 times. I heard about it while being drunk and partying. I wrote it down - of course wrong spelling! – and couldn’t find anything on the internet. therefore, I just went where I thought it could be. I found nice other places but not the one I was searching for. one day, one person– who was one of the two people who told me about that restaurant - wrote me a message. he asked if I’ve been there already. I said no and asked him to go there with me. we arranged to go for lunch the next day…
...and it’s my fav place for food now.
well, while I was meeting a guy I didn’t know much about but had the feeling that he would be an interesting and nice person, I was surprised by life the whole day. but the one story from all the amazing stories I choose today is about the two plastic bags he carried with himself.
it will be a love story. of course. if I have to choose and if possible, it will always be the love story.
well, we met. sat down. I saw a smiling face with two plastic bags who asked me to place them next to me (by the way, I was offered the better seat, also my favourite one at the bench). and he explained that these plastic bags contain many samples of a wedding photobook. he made the pictures. and after looking into my exciting eyes: ’yes, cou can look at them if you want.’
I opened it and he warned me that the colours were better in the original pictures. they were beautiful anyways. but as I said, I was a little bit surprised that day. I saw a very old woman and a very old man... happiness on their faces, lovestrucked glances and cute red cheeks of joy, a red swedish house, tables full of light, food and wine... and people enjoying a wonderful wedding.
the newly wedded couple know each other their whole life. they were best friends all the time. 5 years ago his wife, also her best friend... oh wait, maybe she was her best friend? anyways. they were really, really close with each other since they've been children; sharing a whole life. and 2 years ago, they fell in love. what a happy couple with such sunshiny smiles. and what surprised me the most was that the 80+ lady was still a virgin because she waited for 'the one'...
... and finally found him.
and they both looked - despite their walkers and grey hair and obviously being very old - some kind of like teenagers.
such an axtraordinary love story. I wish I could have been at that weeding to talk with the people around them, and of course, with the lovers.
and yes, my daily 20 minutes are up. I really think my writing is faster with a time limit. the other 20 min - it has been 2 days - I spend on writing on my journey to spanish language land.
and I'm not writing more but here are some other impressions about that magical day:
